Local Nature Partnership Transition Funding
South Yorkshire Forest Partnership submitted a joint bid for transition funds to look at establishing a wide-reaching and integrated South Yorkshire Local Nature Partnership, on behalf of partners in the South Yorkshire Green Infrastructure Strategy, South Yorkshire Biodiversity Forum, South Yorkshire Geodiversity Partnership and Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) South Yorkshire. On 26th September 2011, we learned that the proposal was conditionally accepted, with some minor modifications. This is a welcome endorsement and a significant boost to strategic natural environmental issues in our sub-region. Since then we have established a small working group to lead and steer development, and used this as a tool to work with individuals and organisations from across South Yorkshire, and emerging Local Nature Partnership in neighbouring areas of England.
