Sheffield's Street Trees and Amey
June 20, 2013
The event, on Thursday 18th July at the SWT offices on Stafford Street S2, will give residents and interested parties a chance to hear from and questions of Amey, about their activities especially regarding Sheffields 36,000 street trees.
A report in the local Sheffield paper The Star – http://bit.ly/12MJK93 – suggests that 1,250 trees will be removed over the next few years. A variety of reasons are suggested including being diseased or dying trees but also if they are deemed to be “causing a hazard” or disturbing road surfaces.
Sheffield is famous for the number of trees it contains (over 2.5 million in total) which makes it one of the ‘greenest’ urban areas having the highest ratio of trees to people of any city in Europe!
Places at the event need to be booked in advance as there is expected to be a great deal of interest in the evening. Contact SWT To book your place, please phone 0114 2634335 or email email@example.com
